… gpoy, add to it two years of Anthropological studies and sometimes I’m tempted to tear my hair out because UGH WHITE PEOPLE and UGH THIS SOCIETY.the more you learn the less you like it, my anthropology teacher said
you know, i can rage about this, i can rage and i can argue and shout and protest and write long ass letters, but in the end
it’s just sad, you know?
i just end up not feeling good cause
it’s just really sad
They whitewashed us. And our society strongly adopted the belief that white is best. And we’ve got less and less to be proud about with each years. And we distanced ourselves from our beautiful roots. What about the songs from the coldest, southermost place? What about the lands, full of green and life, were our native people lost everything to these invaders? Sure, we obtained beautiful things from the mix. Traditions founded on love. Colorful churches, beautiful festivities where people united. But the price we paid it’s still there.
We think we are so close to the first world.
And first world is just a bullshit concept. (But our people don’t see that)
We got so blind and now, now that our roots are almost forgotten, now that our natives fight for their right to own their lands now, in the deep of our hearts, deep inside of our roots, we feel unworthy. We feel like less of a country. We’ve lost massive amounts of our identity.
So thank you, west. I guess.
(And they’ll teach kids that white is best, always best.)
